Ted Hoffman vermutet, dass sich hinter dem Mordfall Jessica eine Verschwörung verbirgt. Denn alle Beteiligten, vom Angeklagten bis hin zu einer Zeugin, scheinen auf die eine oder andere Weise mit dem zwielichtigen Geschäftsmann Richard Cross in Verbindung zu stehen.

In this episode, the firm hires a private investigater, Ray, to replace Dave. Julie calls Hoffman in his office and sounds like she has over-dosed on drugs. Hoffman immediately calls 911. Julie ends up in the hospital under Graham Lester's care. Cross even shows up to visit her right in front of Hoffman. Under the influence of Lester, who she has been having strange dreams about, leaves the hospital with him and gets a new lawyer other than Hoffman. A jury consultant is selected but most people in the city have already decided that Avedon is guilty. By a new judge, bail is reinstated and Avedon is set free. Ray digs up some information on a man named Rusty who Hoffman believes was involved in Dave's murder. He finds out that he used to live in Mexico and was addicted to drugs. It was believed that Rusty called Cross who later got Dave killed. Ray also finds out that Graham Lester was almost charged with given lethal prescriptions but was let off for some unknown reason.

En este episodio, la empresa contrata a un investigador privado, Ray, para reemplazar a Dave. Julie llama a Hoffman en su oficina y parece que ha tomado una dosis excesiva de drogas. Hoffman llama inmediatamente al 911. Julie termina en el hospital bajo el cuidado de Graham Lester. Cross incluso aparece para visitarla justo en frente de Hoffman. Se selecciona un asesor del jurado, pero la mayoría de las personas en la ciudad ya han decidido que Avedon es culpable. Por un nuevo juez, la fianza se restablece y Avedon queda en libertad. Ray desentierra información sobre un hombre llamado Rusty que Hoffman cree que estuvo involucrado en el asesinato de Dave. Él descubre que solía vivir en México y era adicto a las drogas. Se creía que Rusty llamó a Cross, quien luego mató a Dave. Ray también descubre que Graham Lester casi fue acusado de recibir recetas letales, pero fue despedido por alguna razón desconocida.
