Behind the scenes documentary following the three year long, £8 million restoration project at Mount Stewart Estate on the shores of Strangford Lough, Northern Ireland.
The contractors for the main part of the restoration arrive on site to inspect the condition of the building, while the chapel within the Mount Stewart estate undergoes a remarkable transformation as construction work begins.
The restoration of the National Trust property begins to slowly fall behind schedule as the engineers experience challenges on site, while the contractors endeavour to remove scaffolding around the building in time for a wedding.
The conservation team begins to catalogue items including clothing, china and taxidermy, which will be kept in storage throughout the project. As the renovation slowly takes over the house, the tour guides struggle to find untouched sections to show visitors.
The decorating team arrives to begin repainting the iconic Central Hall, while project curator Frances Bailey investigates the stained glass windows of the onsite chapel, some of which date back as far as the 1400s.
The team works tirelessly to complete the restoration of the National Trust property on time ahead of the official reopening by Prince Charles. Last in the series.
