The following episode represents director Kevin Tancharoen's "different take on the Mortal Kombat universe," combining the perfect amount of gritty realism mixed with a hint of mysticism... When Lord Raiden, God of Thunder and protector of Earth, finds himself in an earthly mental institution in the year 2011, his 'delusions' are treated with some rather primitive forms of therapy (involving an ECT machine and an ice pick). Nonetheless, Blue, his beautiful, fragile yet insane fellow inmate, is Raiden's only hope of escaping the mental hospital and making his way to the Mortal Kombat tournament to defend Earthrealm from Shao Khan.
Wanneer Raiden, dondergod en beschermer van de aarde, in een psychiatrische inrichting wordt opgenomen, worden zijn 'wanen' behandeld met een aantal nogal primitieve vormen van therapie. Nos presenta los orígenes de Raiden, el Dios del Trueno y protector de la Tierra, quien viene a participar del torneo de Mortal Kombat para que Shao Kahn no se apodere y domine la Tierra. Pero al llegar a la Tierra cae en un manicomio, donde lo encierran como un paciente más y solo otra paciente, Blue, lo podrá ayudar a salir de ahí.
Le dieu du tonnerre, Raiden, arrive sur Terre dans la cour d'un asile psychiatrique. Privé de ses pouvoirs, il ne peut s'échapper de l'établissement. Il surmonte pourtant les thérapies et les lobotomies répétées. Finalement, il s'échappe grâce à une patiente suicidaire, qui le poignarde afin que son corps se reconstitue ailleurs. Raiden réapparait en Chine, en pleine possession de ses moyens.
