天才棋士の父のもとに生まれた【飛鳥（のん）】。 母と3人、仲睦まじい幼少期を送っていたが、ある時父は2人を捨てて出ていってしまう。 母と貧しい生活を送る飛鳥だったが、やがて母も病で他界し、飛鳥は孤独の身となる。 一方、飛鳥を見捨てた父は将棋界で成功を収め、脚光を浴びていた。 その姿に殺意が芽生えた飛鳥は、復讐心に突き動かされ、ある出来事をきっかけに将棋の世界へと足を踏み入れる。そして「史上初の女性棋士」を目指すことになる。 これは、憎しみに囚われるひとりの女性が、将棋を通じて人生を取り戻していく物語。
