Did the Leopard 1 break with the Panzer Tradition of the Big Cats namely the Tiger and Panther? Or did he continue the tradition of the Panzer III and IV? In this video Jens Wehner (MHM Dresden) and I discuss the various perspectives and also the factors that made the Germans choose Mobility and Firepower for the Leopard 1 instead of Armor Protection, since that comes down to various factors like technology and doctrine at the time.
