Why Artillery for the Infantry, particularly why the leichtes Infanteriegeschütz 18 (light infantry (support) gun 18). In this video Jens Wehner and I talk about the infantry support guns, particularly about the leichte Infanteriegeschütz 18 of the Military History Museum Dresden. We talk about the use of the gun, comments from veterans and particularly we also look at German Army Regulations and how these guns were used within Infantry Units in contrast to regular artillery that was assigned to artillery units.
