Yet, there is quite some debate about this terminology, whereas Peter Browning notes that it was an age of Limited Warfare, but the war itself was not limited. Robert Citino and Dennis Showalter are less "generous" with the term. Problem is of course that every time's warfare is limited by its various economical, demographic and other restrictions.
