My idea was a Dutch youth series from the NCRV, in which a series of mini-dramas was broadcast, the stories of which were written by children themselves, instead of the usual scriptwriters. Creator and director Karst van der Meulen made a call in 1985 to send him their self-written stories. Eleven stories were selected and filmed from 2000 submissions. During the youth and youth gala at the national film days in Utrecht, the children were presented with a Golden Paperclip from the NCRV, as the prize for the best film scenarios. After the success of the first season, Van der Meulen recorded two more seasons of My idea in 1987 and 1990. The program received an honorable mention in 1988 for the Zilveren Nipkowschijf.
