This episode begins with Oliver (a boy who's parents are divorced and so he is upset) in his basement trying to make his invention work that he calls Visicron, which can bring historic people back to the present for 36 hours. At first Oliver is just expecting that the Visicron will only show you a video clip on the screen of the historic person you search for on the computer. Then when he searches for Albert Einstein and sees him on the screen, the power goes out. Oliver sees someone in his basement who claims he is Albert Einstein, but Oliver thinks it's some prank that the kids at school are involved in. Oliver trying really hard to keep everything about Visicron from his Mom and make sure she doesn't see Einstein. She keeps bugging Oliver to do more stuff besides be in the basement all the time.
Oliver has no one to talk about Visicron so he brings forward Alexander Graham Bell. Alexander Graham Bell teaches Oliver the importance of communication. Alexander goes into a chat room and meets Dee Sampson and lets Oliver know about her. Oliver finds out Dee's address and goes to her house to meet her. When Dee is at Oliver's house in his basement she looks at the Visicron and finds out that the guy Oliver is really with is Alexander Graham Bell. Oliver makes it clear with Dee not to tell anyone about Visicron or tell anyone who Alexander really is.
Dee brings Joan of Arc to the present to help her protest the environmental pollution caused by a pulp mill that is supported by her parents.
Dee brings back Lewis Carroll so her Grandmother (who is a big fan of Alice in Wonderland) can talk to him. Dee actually brings back Lewis from a year before he even wrote Alice and Wonderland but Dee didn't care. Unfortunately her Grandmother dies before Dee brings Lewis to see her. Dee becomes really upset.
Oliver brings Napoleon Bonaparte forward in time to help him and his co-workers win a newspaper subscription contest.
Oliver summons Oscar Wilde to help motivate him and his friend Bobby to recognize their own unique strengths.
Oliver summons Ludwig van Beethoven for advice when Dee faces an operation that could leave her deaf.
Oliver considers revealing Visicron to the world since he could make a fortune of it. Dee summons Frederick Banting to help change Oliver's mind and show how overwhelming fame can be. Oliver tells this TV program called Star Chat all about his invention and plans to bring Sir Fredrick Banting on the show as well. Right before Star Chat starts, Oliver changes his mind at the last minute and luckily Frederick Banting's 36 hours run out at the same time.
Dee talks Oliver into summoning the original St. Nicholas to help them deal with a poor old woman who refuses to accept charity at Christmas time.
Dee is holding a Halloween fundraiser and decides to bring back Edgar Allen Poe to help make it really scary. Oliver finds his Dad dating this girl named Marlene who is a divorcee and has two kids. This leads Oliver fearing he'll be abandoned. Edgar helps Oliver overcome his fears.
Oliver enters in an orienteering contest and he is required to have an adult on the team with him, so Oliver and Dee decide to summon Harriet Tubman to help them. Oliver's team has Harriet, Dee and a brother and sister on it. Oliver is not being a good sport and acts like the rest of his team is not trying hard enough to win. The contest lasts two days long, so they sleep in a tent. In the morning Oliver decides to sneak out and go get breakfast (which he is not supposed to do) and Dee tries to talk Oliver out of it. Dee ends up deciding to follow Oliver and they both end up falling in a trap. The brother and sister see them and sneak in the other team's tent while they are still asleep to grab a rope. They tie the rope up for Oliver and Dee to climb up it. At the end of the episode Oliver's team wins the contest.
Aspiring actress Dee brings forward Cleopatra ostensibly to help her audition for a role in Shakespeare's Antony and Cleopatra, but really to give her advice on how to seduce the boy who's playing Antony.
While hiking in the woods, Oliver and his Mom Anne get trapped in a mine and go missing. They must get out of the mine fast enough because they are running out of air. Dee goes into Oliver's house and uses the Visicron to bring back Daniel Boone to help her search in the woods for Oliver. Dee is actually mad at Oliver because he was supposed to be Dee's dance partner one day but never showed up. When Oliver hear's Dee in the woods they both start tapping rocks in moarse code. Once Oliver and Anne are rescued Dee kisses Oliver for the first time!
Ghostly incidents are happening in the school. To help figure out who is responsible for them Oliver and Dee summon Sir Aurthur Conan Doyle. Oliver keeps questioning this punk looking girl who just seems to appear everywhere. Is she a ghost? Is she responsible for the ghostly incidents?
Dee is running for Student Council but bad rumours about her are going around the school, so she summons Queen Elizabeth I for political advice.
Dee reads Anne Frank's diary entries and decides that Anne deserves 36 hours of free time from the attic hideaway. Anne Frank cannot believe how free it is where Dee and Oliver live from her attic hideaway. Anne starts to really like or should I say love Oliver. Dee and Oliver decide to take Anne to the movie theatre. During the movie Anne steps out of the theatre and meets this punk guy in the theatre's video arcade and finds that there's a lot of goodness in him. So that tought Dee and Oliver how to find goodness in people. At the end of the episode before Anne's 36 hours run out she says that it has been the best 36 hours she has ever had in her life.
Oliver and Dee summon natve American Sacagawea to help in an expedition to expose a refinery that is secretly causing river pollution.
Oliver accidentally causes himself and Dee to be transported back in time by 24 hours, giving them an opportunity to right a wrong.
Dee summons the inventor of basketball, Dr. James Naismith, to coach her on winning an important game.
After Oliver has a row with his dad, Dee brings the man forward in time as a teenager, hoping that they will learn to better relate to each other.
Oliver finds Dee being around this other guy a lot. Oliver decides to bring back Casanova because he thinks that he will be able to give him some tips on attracting girls. Unfortunately Casanova is giving Oliver really bad advice. When Oliver follows Casanova's advice, he makes a huge fool of himself.
When a financial crisis causes Dee's mom to question her faith, Dee brings Moses from the past to advise her, not realizing that she has summoned the young Moses, when he was but a humble shepherd rather than a great leader.
In danger of losing Visicron to a corporate software pirate, Oliver summons the famous 18th Century pirate Black Bart to help him fight fire with fire.
Oliver adds another module to Visicron to speed it up. When Oliver tries to bring back Jack London, the Visicron instead takes Oliver to the time and place Jack London is right now. Oliver has to try and find a way back, so Dee asks Simon to help find a way to bring Oliver back. Meanwhile Oliver keeps altering the future and weird things keep happening in the present.
Plagued by a recurring dream, Dee summons famous prophet Nostradamus to advise her on what it means.
Oliver is just about to delete Visicron before going to college, but then he is transported into the future by an old man. Oliver gets accused by the old man of being careless with time travel. Oliver and the old man watch clips of past episodes on a screen so that Oliver can defend himself and show the man what good Visicron has done. The old man convinces Oliver he shouldn't delete Visicron and then Oliver gets sent back to the present. We later find out that the old man was really Oliver himself as an old man in the future. In the end right before Oliver leaves to Montreal, Quebec, Canada to go to college he gives Visicron to his 12 year old cousin Simon.
Simon brings Oliver back home from the university using the VisiCron to help him with an invention. But there is a glitch in the VisiCron and Oliver is split into two, one nice and the other one is naughty. The nice one cannot tell a lie but the naughty one is seeking revenge on all the people that treated him bad in high school so Crystal and Simon need to find him before he does something really bad.
Simon's hockey team isn't doing that well so he uses the time machine to bring confusious back to the present. At first the hockey team doesn't like him but after he teaches them a few things they are ready to play and win
Simon, Crystal, and Glae try to retrieve the time machine after it's been stolen so they use a device to activate the time machine and bring back Harry Houdini. Glae is getting headaches and starts to disappear, at a fast rate. Thus, Simon must choose between the secrets and confidentiality of the time machine, and saving a friend from not existing.
