Mazinger Z vs. The Great General of Darkness (マジンガーＺ対暗黒大将軍, Majingâ Zetto tai Ankoku Daishôgun) is a 1974 Japanese mecha animated film that served as an alternative link between the Mazinger Z series and the Great Mazinger series. It basically introduces Great Mazinger to the audience, as well as his enemies from the Mikene Empire.
Dr. Hell, Mazinger Z's main enemy, has been defeated and killed in battle, and finally Kouji Kabuto and the rest of his friends can take a break from their duty of defending Japan and the world from evil.
However, during a storm after a very hot day in the beach, Boss, Mucha and Nuke have a disturbing vision of a prophet that heralds the end of the world, claiming that the dead will raise and destroy the human race, and that the General of Darkness will attack from air, sea and land. The only hope of defense is an iron fortress, Mazinger. After these words, the strange figure disappears.
Vinta la guerra contro i mostri meccanici del dottor Hell, Koji Kabuto si gode il meritato riposo, ma una nuova minaccia, annunciata da un misterioso profeta, incombe sull'umanità: le Sette Armate del malvagio Generale delle Tenebre sono ormai pronte a riemergere dalle viscere della Terra per riprenderne possesso. Improvvisamente, le maggiori capitali del mondo subiscono l'irresistibile attacco di potenti mostri guerrieri, che seminano ovunque distruzione e morte. Ma le cose non vanno come ci si aspetterebbe, anzi vanno sempre peggio.......
El Dr. Hell, el principal enemigo de Mazinger Z, ha sido derrotado y asesinado en batalla, y finalmente Kouji Kabuto y el resto de sus amigos pueden tomar un descanso de su deber de defender a Japón y al mundo del mal. Sin embargo, durante una tormenta después de un día muy caluroso en la playa, Boss, Mucha y Nuke tienen una inquietante visión de un profeta que anuncia el fin del mundo, afirmando que los muertos resucitarán y destruirán a la raza humana, y que el General of Darkness atacará desde el aire, el mar y la tierra. La única esperanza de defensa es una fortaleza de hierro, Mazinger. Tras estas palabras, la extraña figura desaparece. Cuando Boss les cuenta estos eventos a Koji y Sayaka, ellos apenas le dan crédito a lo que dice, burlándose de él e ignorando esta profecía como solo una ilusión causada por el intenso calor.
