Der Bluessänger Ty Mullins soll Nachtclubbesitzer Eric Gaston auf dem Gewissen haben. Gaston hatte Wettschulden bei Mullins und konnte dessen Band auch nicht bezahlen. Matlock ist von Mullins’ Unschuld überzeugt. Er durchleuchtet Gastons krumme Geschäfte und stößt dabei auf drei dubiose Burschen, die Gaston erpresst hatte.

When a gambler is accused of killing his bookie, Matlock agrees to take the case, believing that someone from the bookie's past is the guilty party.
