Blues boss Jose Mourinho has repeatedly played down his chances of lifting the Premier League trophy this season, but victory at Anfield would be a potentially season-defining moment. The third side in the title equation, Manchester City, face an awkward away game against Crystal Palace, who have already beaten Chelsea on home turf this season. The newly-promoted Eagles struggled at the start of the campaign but have been reinvigorated following the appointment of manager Tony Pulis. The day's other game sees Sunderland take on Cardiff. Both sides have been embroiled in relegation struggles this season, and desperately need a win as they try to claw their way to safety.
