Contestants must choose an ingredient and cook it two ways, in a fast-food and in a fancy food application. The contestants with the three least impressive fast-food dishes will cook in round two.
Une épreuve se déroule en deux manches. Tout d'abord, les concurrents devront choisir un ingrédient et le mettre en valeur en préparant un plat rapide à emporter. Puis, ils devront préparer un plat raffiné avec ce même ingrédient.
