Krishna comes home and finds Pratigya upset. He is enraged when she tells him about Sumitra. Pratigya confronts her. Sumitra pretends to be shocked when she shows her the dhoti coloured black and not yellow. Sumitra tells her she has always hated her and is determined to separate her from Krishna.
