Kicking the Hollywood dust off his heals, Jake Stevens (a.k.a. PJ Gallagher) heads to Nashville where he knows he can make it as a country singer. Once in Tennessee Jake is guided by Elvis' son (who happens to be the pool cleaner in his motel) as he attempts to be the next great country star.
Jake Stevens (PJ Gallagher) travels to Miami to set up a talent agency and possibly find love. He has a go at speed dating and gets a surprise when he makes a move on a Dolly Parton 'look alike'
Jake travels to Vegas believing it holds the magic that will help him 'make it'. He has a chance to pitch himself to Bobby from The Sopranos, as he puts together a show, with a 'psychic monkey' that he believes will be his big break.
Jake arrives back in California to San Francisco with increasing anxiety that he will never make it. He gets assistance from a writing coach and a Zen monk who tries to calm him down and keep him out of trouble.
Jake finally ends up in New York; broke, homeless and with one last 'great idea'. He turns to God in a desperate bid to turn his life around before getting an audition with the man who discovered Woody Allen and Barbra Streisand. He knows this is his last chance to make it in the States.
The inner city Dub wants to buy a house with his bag of tenners. The desperate traffic warden tries to find love on the Luas. Meanwhile, Jake Stevens wants to take a language class to learn to speak English, to people who don't speak English.
