「家族の問題を『リフォーム』で解決しませんか?」をコンセプトに、さまざまな物件の大改造を通して、再び“家族の絆&やすらぎ”を取り戻すこと[1]を目的とする番組。応募のあった一般視聴者の実際の物件を題材としており、ドキュメンタリー的要素を持つが、番組公式サイトでは「笑いあり、感動ありの家族応援バラエティ」と謳っているほか、番組制作を手がけるABCも本番組のジャンルをバラエティ番組に位置づけており、いわゆるリアリティバラエティの要素を内包していることが示唆されている。
