يروي المسلسل تاريخ الكويت وتحديدًا سنة الطبعة؛ وهي الكارثة التي حلت بالمجتمع الكويتي في عام 1871، حيث هبت عاصفة بحرية على سفن البحارة الكويتيين أثناء رحلاتهم التجارية في بحر العرب، ونتج عن ذلك فقدان مئات الأرواح ودمار كبير للجميع، مع تسليط الضوء على يوميات البحارة بالكويت ومواجهتهم للمخاطر وقدرتهم على الصمود.
