After an extensive chemotherapy and other laboratory tests, Stefano fails to defeat his life-threatening disease as it reoccurs for the second time, causing Adelle and Isabella so much pain. Stefano then wishes to make the most of his life and decides to reunite with his brother Nikolai even if his mother opposes the set-up he's looking for.
