四九年元旦，女会计黄俪文为祭悼亡夫张晓光同志，孤身从解放区返回故乡上海。非常情境之下，黄俪文临危受命，加入了我党至关重要的“归省计划”。她在中产阶级社区镇宁坊入住，不仅意外与家人重逢，还结识善良正直、充满小市民智慧的乔智才。无独有偶，乔智才的孪生弟弟乔礼杰正是“归省计划”重点的保护和争取对象。黄俪文与乔家兄弟，三个年轻人在乱世风波中守望相助、患难真情，最终体悟到爱与信仰的真谛。
