    After a bank robbery, quick work by the Pittsburgh Police Department and those of surrounding counties acting on information supplied by witnesses, forces the perpetrators to flee into a wooded hilly area where a gun battle between cops and crooks ensues.

    A baby born in Danville, Virginia with an extremely rare blood-type desperately needs a transfusion. There are only 35 people in the United States with U-Negative blood, the nearest living in Cincinnati, Ohio - but he was working as a truck driver when the blood bank called to request he give the baby a transfusion. The local police initiated a desperate manhunt to find him in time to save the baby's life.

    A police officer is murdered during a routine traffic stop in suburban Westchester County, New York, home to 41 police departments. The separate agencies quickly organize to search their territories to captured the paroled mental patient before he can kill again.

    A youthful gang of criminals goes on a crime spree throughout the metropolitan Boston area, leaving two men dead while committing numerous robberies and car heists. The various police agencies work together to compare ballistic tests and modus operandi and quickly gather the threads of evidence into an effective dragnet.

    A small-time crook returns to rob a convenience store for the second time in three weeks. His escape plan goes awry when he finds his car has flat tire. Before he can leave the area¸ the Houston police and their K-9 dogs track him down. While they're happy to have made an arrest expeditiously, the cops have another concern - where did the perpetrator toss his gun and could they find it before a neighborhood child picked it up.

    The police force of a small suburban town in New York confronts an epidemic of juvenile delinquency. Their quick action averts a pair of rumbles between rival gangs of teenagers, but they haven't been able to solve a pair of knifings. By dint of their persistence, they manage to cultivate young informants who help them rout out the criminals.

  • S01E16 Providence, Rhode Island, November 13: Young Hoods in Armed Robbery

    A trio of inexperienced thieves find themselves in the armed robbery business when they spot a car with the keys still in the ignition. After repainting the car a vivid lilac color, they break into a home and steal two guns, then try to knock over a liquor store. In their hurry to flee the premises, one of the young hoodlums shoots himself in the foot and winds up in the hospital. By working together the Providence Police Department and county police agencies put together a case against the three thugs.

  • S01E17 Chicago, Illinois, February 2: Police Search for Kidnapers

    A gang of kidnappers abducts the wife, son and daughter of a Chicago tire store owner and force him to obtain a withdraw a large amount of money from his bank to ransom his family. As soon as his loved ones are safe, the Chicago Police Department swings into action to locate and arrest the criminals.

  • S01E18 Baltimore County, Maryland, June 23: Cat Burglar Hits Again

    • January 14, 1964

    The Baltimore County Police Department investigate a string of burglaries in the Essex and Dundalk neighborhoods. The modus operandi is the same - a cat burglar sneaks into a rowhouse and searches the home for valuables while the family is asleep. Although patrol cars, beat policemen and K-9 corps blanket the area, the score is Burglar 38, Police 0 until the detectives get a solid lead.

  • S01E19 Minneapolis, Minnesota, August 17: All Three Killers Still on the Loose

    • January 21, 1964

    Two Minneapolis policeman are gunned down by car thieves when the crooks crash the stolen vehicle after a hot pursuit. Though the criminals initially manage to escape via a series of carjackings, they are flushed by sheriff's deputies in Anoka County, Minnesota resulting in a massive manhunt that brings lawmen from as far away as Wisconsin to track the gang.

  • S01E20 Minneapolis, Minnesota, August 17: All Three Killers Still on the Loose

    The manhunt for a gang of cop killers heats up when one of their members is arrested for suspicion of car theft. His manages to escape with the help of his partners in crime, but they are surrounded in the countryside by policemen from several Minnesota jurisdictions.

  • S01E21 Rochester, New York: 14 Year Old Girl Missing

    • February 4, 1964

    When a pretty teenager disappears on her way home from school, Rochester, New York's public safety personnel organize search parties to comb the neighborhoods, woods and fields looking for the missing girl. When her body is found, the police department changes gears and launches a murder investigation.

  • S01E22 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Armed Robber Takes Girl Clerk with Him

    A middle-aged man, down on his luck, in debt and without money to pay the rent decides to embark on a life of crime in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His modus operandi is to rob small stores, grab a hostage and walk her to the nearest subway station where he releases her. When the police track him to his hotel, he barricades himself in his room and threatens to kill himself. The police work quickly to prevent the man from harming himself or others.

    A bumbling gang of burglars breaks through a skylight in a tool making plant to rob a safe, but they accidentally set off a sprinkler and smoke alarm, bringing the fire department to the scene.

    Explosions are the obsession of a budding juvenile delinquent who starts off with small chemistry set blasts, but soon moves up to auto thefts, store break-ins and finally torching a police squad car.

  • S01E25 Burbank, California, April 9: Search for Injured Boy in Mountains

    • March 3, 1964

    While hiking with his friends in the Verdugo Mountains above Burbank, California, a young boy loses his footing, falls to the bottom of a canyon and is serious injured. His friends rush to find help, but become disoriented in the remote area when trying to lead the police back to the injured boy. Desperate to find the youngster before dark, the Burbank P.D. organizes a massive search party.

  • S01E26 Los Angeles County, California, January 20: Spy in the Sky

    A pair of warehouse employees for a trading stamp merchandise company plan a daring burglary and attempt to bribe the company's head security guard to allow them access to the building. The guard goes along with the plan, but secretly alerts the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department who arranges to trace the stolen merchandise to the criminals who fence the goods.

    An abortion ring that also commits armed robberies is brought down by a police sting operation.

  • S01E28 Denver, Colorado, September 3: Escaped Prisoner Still at Large

    • March 24, 1964

    While on parole from the Colorado State Penitentiary in Canon City Colorado to attend his brother's funeral, a young hoodlum flees from his guard and returns to his chosen profession of armed robbery. The Denver Police Department quickly mobilizes to comb the escapee's known haunts and arrest him before he can injury any citizen.

    Three girl roommates get hold of a couple of starter's pistols and go on a spree of late-night store stick-ups.

    While investigating a series of bombings and attempted assassinations, the Miami Police Department's intelligence unit uncovers a gang of neo-Nazis and attempts to infiltrate the group using an undercover police officer who was a Hitler Youth during World War II.

  • S01E31 Oakland, California, January 3: Police Hunt Shotgun Gang

    In Oakland, California, a gang of criminals armed with sawed-off shotguns rob a restaurant and strike one of the patrons with the butt of one of their weapons. Their getaway car is spotted by a motorcycle cop who is shot trying to apprehend the crooks. Shortly thereafter, the Oakland police force mobilizes to purse the shotgun wielding trio.

  • S01E32 St. Louis, Missouri, October 24: Prison Escapee Captured in Armed Robbery Shootout

    A pair of criminals serving life sentences at the Missouri State Penitentiary in Jefferson City escape and are recruited into a gang of criminals who intend to invade the home of a wealthy couple and force them to turn over the stash of money they believe to be hidden there. When an informant notifies the St. Louis County police department of the plan, the officers set a trap for the criminals.
