Laurel & Hardy

Laurel und Hardy war ein US-amerikanisches Komiker-Duo, das aus Stan Laurel und Oliver Hardy bestand. Zwischen 1926 und 1951 drehten sie zusammen 106 Filme (79 Kurzfilme, 27 Spielfilme). Sie gelten als eines der berühmtesten und erfolgreichsten Film-Duos aller Zeiten. Im deutschen Sprachraum sind Laurel und Hardy auch unter den Bezeichnungen Dick und Doof oder Stan & Ollie bekannt.

The Laurel and Hardy Show is a series of short silent films which later led into talking short films and feature movies with the progression in sound technology. The show revolves around the duo getting into various situations that are often a bit unrealistic and silly. The main focus is on the two disagreeing so often that it got them into trouble on more than one occasion. 'The Laurel and Hardy Show' is a syndicated version of The Boys, seen weekly throughout the late 80s. Showcased collections of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy's genius work, as well as featurettes ending each episode dediacted to the bit-players seen in many shorts. Distributed and made by Hal Roach.

Laurel and Hardy (br: O Gordo e o Magro; pt: O Bucha e Estica) foi uma famosa dupla de comediantes e uma das equipes cômicas mais populares do cinema dos Estados Unidos, em atividade desde o cinema mudo até meados da Era de Ouro de Hollywood. Composta por um magro, o inglês Stan Laurel (1890–1965) e um gordo, o estadunidense Oliver Hardy (1892–1957), a dupla tornou-se conhecida durante as décadas de 1920 e 1930 pelo seu trabalho em filmes de comédia e também apareceram em apresentações teatrais na América e na Europa.
