Ted and Liz Jackson - married for 23 years and the parents of three teenage children - are embarking together on the holiday of a lifetime. Fate, however, has a surprise in store for them.
The news of Liz's pregnancies has been too much for Ted, who is now suffering from all manner of ills. Liz wonders how she can help him, and medical advice is sought.
Liz's pregnancies are advancing and natural childbirth classes are attended. Ted the over-protective husband joins her, but for him it is an unnatural childbirth class.
Financial problems abound. Shocked at discovering how much the twins are going to cost, Ted decides to get their teenagers working.
Liz finds, to her dismay, that none of her clothes now fit and, feeling unattractive, seeks reassurance from the family. She receives support from Suzie, Polly and George, but what of Ted?
Ted informs Liz and the children that they should be prepared to cope with the forthcoming twins. Unfortunately, this course of action only increases Ted's problems when a niggling suspicion is aroused.
