يتغير مسار حياة العائلة الأرستقراطية المحافظة بأكملها، بعدما يموت عائلها وهو الأب، فتُكَرِّس الأم حياتها وتتولى مسئولية تربية الأبناء الأيتام البالغين، وهي امرأة حازمة جدًا، حتى يتم تجنيد الابن الأكبر لها (أحمد زهدي) في الجيش أثناء العدوان الثلاثي على مصر.
