يلقي المسلسل الضوء على عمليات الفساد والتهريب وندرة البضائع الأساسية في ظل الحصار الإقتصادي على سوريا في فترة الثمانينات من القرن العشرين وما نرنب عن ذلك من مشكلات، ويتناول أيضاً حياة سكان القرى (الضيعة) وطلاب الجامعة.
