We take a look at the status of protected areas in Iceland. Of the approximately fifty areas that Alþingi has agreed to protect over the last fifteen years, only a few have made it into that category. We then visit the city of Narva in Estonia, which is located on the border between Russia and Estonia. The city entered the debate following the Russian invasion of Crimea, where it was often said that Narva would be next.
Við tökum stöðuna á friðlýsingum á Íslandi. Af um það bil fimmtíu svæðum sem Alþingi hefur samþykkt að friðlýsa síðustu fimmtán árin hafa aðeins örfá komist í þann flokk. Við heimsækjum svo borgina Narva í Eistlandi en hún stendur á landamærum Rússlands og Eistlands. Borgin barst í umræðuna í kjölfar innrásar Rússa á Krímskaga, þar sem iðulega var sagt að Narva yrði næst.
