In this Yuletide special, Alan meets the cross-dressing chef, Fanny Thomas, gets involved in a debate regarding morality with a bell ringer by the name of Mary and BBC commissioner, Tony Hayers. He repeatedly plugs Rover cars by getting Mike Yapley of the Norfolk Rover dealer network to chat with him about the Rover Vitesse fastback he received for Christmas from his wife. In a pre-recorded scene, Alan visits the Norwich children's hospital while the camera repeatedly zooms in to the Rover logo on his car. He then does a spot of Christmas shopping in Tandy, where he drops a GPS system for a car, probably causing damage. When the view returns to the studio, Alan meets the disabled golfer Gordon Heron and his wife, Liz. Then, Fanny loses his temper with Alan, speaking in his real gruff voice. Alan goes mad, punching Gordon and Tony with a turkey, before flooring Tony with another punch after he vowed to ensure that Alan never works in television again. At the end, Mick Hucknall from Simply Red sang.
