Kings and Generals historical animated documentary series on the history of Japan continues with an episode on the Sohei warriors, also know as Ikko-Ikki, who despite being Buddhist monks took up arms and became one of the most fearsome forces in Medieval Japan during the Kamakura, Kenmu, Muromachi and Sengoku periods, at times successfully fighting the daimyo and their samurais.
