On June 28th 2005, Joan Porco arrives for the trial of the man accused of murdering her husband and attempting to murder her. But the strange thing about this trial is that the accused man is her son, Christopher Porco, and she is walking into court arm in arm with him. This is the story of one of the most famous murders in New York State.
November 2004: Im Haus der Familie Porco macht die Polizei einen grausamen Fund: Nahe der Eingangstür liegt die blutüberströmte Leiche des Vaters, Peter. Joan, die Mutter, liegt schwer verletzt im Ehebett. Beide wurden mit einer Axt angegriffen. Mit einem Nicken bestätigt sie den Beamten, dass der Täter ihr Sohn Christopher war. Er wird festgenommen, während Joan nach einer Not-OP im Koma liegt. Als sie wieder aufwacht, bestreitet sie, dass Christopher ihren Mann umgebracht hat.
En juin 2005, Joan Porco se rend au tribunal pour le procès de l'homme accusé du meurtre de son mari. Dix-huit mois plus tôt cet homme aurait tué Peter Porco à coups de hache et laissé Joan pour morte. Mais quand elle arrive à l'audience, Joan est au bras de l'accusé, qui n'est autre que son propre fils, Christopher.
