Zed watches as Dumas, Miki, Roia, and Robes prepare for the upcoming Joust, a tournament for Shard Casters to compete in for the title of "Shard Champion". Zed wants to fight too, but since he's not a citizen, he must find an alternative way. Meanwhile, Noah is tended to by a young girl and an old man.
Dumas, Miki, Roia et Robès se préparent pour les joutes qui opposent les Shard Casters de Tempura afin d'obtenir le titre de Shard Champion. Zed aimerait également y participer pour tester sa force mais ne le peut pas faute d'être un citoyen de Tempura.
Zed desea desesperadamente participar en la Justa, la competencia anual de lucha que decide el Shard Champion. Dumas, Robès, Mikki y Roya participan. Cuando Mikki, quien ingresó en la Justa, expresa su miedo a pelear una segunda ronda, Zed decide cambiarse de ropa con él y pelear en su lugar. Gana el primer partido y está a punto de luchar contra el aristócrata presumido Robès.
