Shichika and Togame travel to Togame's childhood home in search of Rinne Higaki, a holy man in possession of Seito Hakari. When they find him they discover that Rinne has no physical form; when someone looks at him, they project an image from their memories on to him and he takes that appearance irregardless of his own will. This causes emotional strain for the duo as they both see people related to painful memories that they would rather forget. Meanwhile, Houou and Penguin continue on with their plans while Princess Hitei sends Emonzaemon out to spy on Togame and Shichika.
After Togame and Shichika retrieve Seito Hakari, Rinne informs them that he was a personal friend of Shikizaki Kiki and reveals that the Kyotouryuu fighting style is actually Kiki's thirteenth and final perfected blade. As the episode closes and our duo heads off to their next location, they stumble across Penguin Maniwa who is lying the middle of road, gravely injured and begging for someone to save Houou.

次なる刀に関するある情報を頼りに、陸奥の百刑場へと向かう二人。
そこは、今は何も無い原っぱだが、とがめにとって因縁深い場所であった。
そして二人はその百刑場で、誠刀・銓の所有者である彼我木輪廻に出会う。自らを仙人と呼ぶ彼は、とがめに対し、刀を渡すとある条件を言い渡す。
Shichika y Togame viajan a la casa de la infancia de Togame en busca de Rinne Higaki, un hombre santo en posesión de Seito Hakari. Cuando lo encuentran, descubren que Rinne no tiene forma física; cuando alguien lo mira, proyecta una imagen de sus recuerdos en él y él toma esa apariencia independientemente de su propia voluntad. Esto causa una tensión emocional para el dúo, ya que ambos ven a personas relacionadas con recuerdos dolorosos que preferirían olvidar. Mientras tanto, Houou y Penguin continúan con sus planes mientras la Princesa Hitei envía a Emonzaemon para espiar a Togame y Shichika.
Después de que Togame y Shichika recuperan a Seito Hakari, Rinne les informa que era un amigo personal de Shikizaki Kiki y revela que el estilo de lucha Kyotouryuu es en realidad la decimotercera y la última espada de Kiki. Cuando el episodio se cierra y nuestro dúo se dirige a su siguiente ubicación, se encuentran con Penguin Maniwa, quien se encuentra en medio de la carretera, gravemente herido y pidiendo que alguien salve a Houou.
