Hwange National Park is one of the largest game reserves in the world and has the largest population of
elephants and giraffe. Karina is guided by the charismatic, Barry Wolhuter as they venture off to
experience hundreds of elephants as they all converge for a drink at one of the water pans. As well as
explaining many interesting points of interest, Barry shows the ins and outs of an elephant skeleton.
One of the attractions at the Hide safari camp is to spend time in a hide near the water hole and Karina
and Barry settle down quietly as they watch in awe as the varied wildlife go about their usual business.
Barry explains the fact that some of the lion prides in Hwange are elephant killers and the crew have the
fortune of capturing this amazing fact on camera as a coalition of 3 huge lions take on an elephant.
Karina is also mock charged by a mating lion twice (nothing new). Barry is pleased to announce that they
offer an exclusive spa treatment at the Hide and Karina obliges by joining Barry in his mud wallow!
