Next, the four cooks have one hour to make their own two favourite dishes in the fight for that all-important semi-final place. Whose dishes will taste the best and make the judges smile? With sunshine chicken, coconut creme brulee and ravioli two ways, there is plenty for the judges to get their teeth into. Prepare for a deliciously tight contest.

The four contestants then have one hour to cook their own favourites in an attempt to impress and win that all-important last semi-final place. With dishes including calves' liver, diet cola chicken and gorgonzola figs to taste, the judges face a delicious dilemma.

    It's the first of the semi-finals and the six best cooks from around the country are competing for the trophy. They face their most daunting challenge so far - cooking at London Zoo. Split into two teams of three, they must prepare a sumptuous two-course lunch for the penguin keepers, using basic outside kitchens and with only barbecues to cook on. The contestants now need to work as a team as well as battle the wind and rain to produce a fancy two-course lunch on time. Then it's back to the MasterChef kitchen, where they must cook just one exceptional dish to stay in the competition. The young culinary stars will have to cook their hearts out to impress because this is the knock-outs and at the end of the cook-off, two contestants will be sent home.

    As the semi-finals continue it's sports day in the MasterChef kitchen, and as the end of the competition draws closer the pressure is on to deliver for the final four cooks in the competition. First up is a skills circuit test where the contestants must complete four basic tasks in the quickest time possible. With challenges such as shelling peas and separating egg whites will their skills be up to scratch? And who will get the fastest time? Then the judges ask the final four to cook a dish - crab, prawn and mussel ravioli - but with a twist. They must work in relay teams and cook the dish with a recipe in one hour. One team member will start and finish the dish, whilst the other takes on the middle leg. The pressure is ramped even higher when as well as impressing John and Donal they must also impress a surprise guest judge... Only one of these four talented cooks can take the title of Junior MasterChef 2014.

    In the penultimate show and last of the semi-finals, the pressure is really on as the final four best cooks left in the competition become three. Firstly, they are taken to legendary chocolatier Paul A Young for a master class in making chocolate before creating their own unique cocoa creations. Then the young cooks face MasterChef's most nerve-wracking challenge of all - cooking for the MasterChef restaurant critics for a place in the final. As well as impressing John and Donal, the final four must wow food critics Charles Campion, Tracey Macleod and William Sitwell with their very best dessert. With ambitious offerings including a creme brulee, shortcakes and a souffle, who will put the biggest smile on the critics' faces? The stakes are high and after this challenge one more must leave the competition.

    This is it. It's the final of Junior MasterChef 2014. The three best cooks in the country now face their ultimate challenge and their last chance to dazzle and delight judges John Torode and Donal Skehan with their most delicious dishes, before one is crowned Junior MasterChef champion of 2014. The contestants face their final test and the one they've all been working towards - making their best three-course menu. They have two hours to prepare, plate and serve three sumptuous courses full of flavour, flair and talent, showing everything they've learnt during the competition. The three flaunt their skills with dishes which include courgette soup, steak and kidney pudding and duck and blackberry jam. For dessert there's a tart tatin, coffee and chocolate mousse and raspberry cheesecake. Who will make the judges swoon and smile? Which of these talents will triumph and take the trophy? It's a flavourful finale to the series and after all the culinary excitement John and Donal must make their final decision.
