Pauline Quirke and Linda Robson learn what it takes to succeed in a variety of challenging worlds. In the first show they learn how to handle two Old English sheepdogs for Crufts by some of the top handlers in the country.
In this second programme, they have four weeks to convince The Guardian that they can be trusted to cover an important news story.
In this third programme, they captain two rival teams of top anglers in a freshwater and deep-sea fishing match. Helping them with their technique are actor, rock star and trout farmer Roger Daltrey , and Ian Botham , who is also a keen fisherman.
In the fourth programme, they train as classical singers, aiming to join leading soprano Lesley Garrett on the concert platform with a full symphony orchestra.
Anneka Rice is enlisted to help Pauline Quirke and Linda Robson with their challenge of organising a glittering ball for the Duchess of York's charity, Children in Crisis. With two months to arrange a venue, a gourmet meal, and a star-studded cabaret, food and wine experts Raymond Blanc and Jilly Goolden are consulted, while Rolf Harris helps out with advice on the invitations.
