With a devoted but demanding fan base, the team members know they have their work cut out for them. In the early 1990s, EA is the envy of the video game world, but in order to stay on top, Trip Hawkins & company must elevate their game. In 1992, they kickstart the annual Madden series to great fanfare. But soon, cracks begin to show. In 1996, Madden NFL cancels the release of the PlayStation version. And suddenly, for the first time, Madden finds itself in second.
As EA SPORTS deals with blowback from the Madden '96 mishap, competitors seize the opportunity. But the Madden team has an ace up its sleeve, and they ready their most potent weapon yet...
