Sharn can be a dark place full of regret. Yet, where the rubbish lay heavy, great hope blossoms anew; and so we meet our zeroes, rife with a history haunted by their misguided decisions. From the Old Dominion, deep in the underbelly of Sharn, there is no where to go but up.
After Catter the kenku turns up dead, our zeroes take up the task of delivering the news to the bird’s widow, Jingler, and uncover a mystery they over dreamed.
A gnome underworld contact, Garlon, is happy to help clear Felix’s gambling debt and line the zeroes’ coffer a little; all the crew has to do is return a book to a library. How hard can it be?
With the help of Library Larry, the crew uses an abandon food court to access the library’s air ducts. As they say, no plan survives contact with the library.
Triumphant, the crew returns to the Old Dominion where Garlon waits to meet them. However, another clue presents itself in the form of a little girl, and someone close to them is no more. Perhaps, it’s a sign.
The clues can’t seem to stack as quickly as the broken lives left in their wake. The crew sets to unraveling the mystery, each in their own unique way. But can they keep it together?
As evidence of foul play appears, Felix gives the others reasons to distrust him and Harmatio write a blank check (for a favor named at a later date) to save a priest.
Following up on leads, Grizz and Xalen question motives and draw blood, while Laucian and Felix follow the key to the bank where one comes away with a hell of a deal, and Rose makes a poetic return.
Harmatio and Xalen learn there is more to the Sovereign Host than scriptures and tithing. Meanwhile, Felix and Laucian find themselves on unsteady moral ground. Finally, the whole crew passes on what they’ve learned to some children.
As if the Old Dominion wasn’t low enough, the crew finds a way below, and clues that reignite the trail. With the help of a valuable new friend, Felix gains a very interesting asset.
As the crew comes together, the clues start to fill in the blanks, leading them to an establishment where even getting through the front door is a ‘hoot’ and everything might just go up in smoke.
It’s one rager of a party, and the crew has to split the party on a gamble. When another sign looms above, will they have each other’s backs in time, or simply disappear into the night?
