Corona-bedingt kann Anfang 2021 kein reguläres Dschungelcamp stattfinden. Stattdessen veranstaltet RTL "Ich bin ein Star - Die große Dschungelshow". Ziel des ganzen Events: Es soll der erste Camper für die nächste Staffel gefunden werden. Richtig, am Ende der 15 mehrstündigen Live-Shows soll am Ende tatsächlich nur einer der nächsten Kandidaten für das Dschungelcamp feststehen, das 2022 wieder in Australien stattfinden soll. Sonja Zietlow und Daniel Hartwich führen im Studio durchs Geschehen rund um die Bewerber. Mit an Bord ist auch Dr. Bob, der extra aus Australien nach Deutschland anreist. Parallel wird mit Studiogästen und Ex-Campern auch auf die Höhepunkte der vergangenen 14 Staffeln zurückgeblickt.
