The movie begins with Killua dreaming about his brother Illumi's warning to never make friends, claiming that eventually he will betray or get betrayed by them. He wakes up along Gon on an airship. Upon arriving at their destination, they meet Leorio and learn that he and Kurapika were investigating a rumor about a survivor of Kurapika's Kuruta Clan until they meet a young boy whom Kurapika recognized as his childhood friend Pyro, who attacks him and steals his eyes. Uncounscious since then, Kurapika awakens beside the others and soon after he has visions through his stolen eyes of a man whose right palm is marked with a spider tattoo, the same used by the members of the Phantom Troupe.
Kurapika est devenu un Hunter pour se venger de la Brigade Fantôme, une organisation à l’origine du massacre de son clan.
En effet, les yeux des membres du clan Kurta deviennent écarlates lors de fortes émotions et se vendent extrêmement chers au marché noir. Malgré l’intervention de Gon, Killua et Leorio, Kurapika se fait voler ses yeux.
Ainsi commence le combat contre la Brigade Fantôme et la véritable identité du N°4
少数民族クルタ族は凶暴な盗賊集団「幻影旅団（クモ）」に襲撃され、ただ一人生き残ったのがクラピカだった。クラピカは旅団に奪われた「緋の眼」を奪還すべく旅していたが、クラピカ自身の緋の眼を奪われてしまう。ゴン＝フリークス、キルア＝ゾルディック、レオリオの助けで命拾いしたクラピカだったが、そんな中、4人の前に幻影旅団（クモ）が待ち構える。
La película comienza con Killua soñando con la advertencia de su hermano Illumi de nunca hacer amigos, alegando que eventualmente los traicionará o los traicionará. Se despierta junto a Gon en una aeronave. Al llegar a su destino, se encuentran con Leorio y descubren que él y Kurapika estaban investigando un rumor sobre un sobreviviente del Clan Kuruta de Kurapika hasta que conocen a un niño que Kurapika reconoció como su amigo de la infancia Pyro, quien lo ataca y le roba los ojos. Il film inizia con Killua che sogna l'avvertimento di suo fratello Illumi di non fare mai amicizia, sostenendo che alla fine tradirà o verrà tradito da loro. Si sveglia con Gon su un dirigibile. Arrivati a destinazione, incontrano Leorio e apprendono che lui e Kurapika stavano indagando su una voce su un sopravvissuto del clan Kuruta di Kurapika fino a quando non incontrano un giovane ragazzo che Kurapika ha riconosciuto come il suo amico d'infanzia Pyro, che lo attacca e gli ruba gli occhi. Da allora, Kurapika si risveglia accanto agli altri e subito dopo ha visioni attraverso i suoi occhi rubati di un uomo il cui palmo destro è segnato da un tatuaggio di ragno, lo stesso usato dai membri della Phantom Troupe.
