I was a huge HUGE fan of the 1984 film Karate Kid growing up so I had to check out the once YouTube now Netflix series Cobra Kai. I am happy to say I was pleasantly surprised. You wont find a whole lot of drinking on the show besides the occasional Coors and a martini ordered by Johnny so instead I relied on an old tiki recipe from Don the Beachcomber called a Cobra's Fang. There have been many variations on this classic over the years but the core ingredients have remained the standard rum, passionfruit juice, lime juice and orange juice. When I was developing a drink for this episode I started thinking about California, which is the number one producer of almonds in the world and used that - along with Johnny's general badass nature - as inspiration for the Cobra Kaitale.
