Der Polizist Mark Dabling wird während einer Verkehrskontrolle erschossen. Ermittler Joe Kenda und seine Kollegen sind von dem Tod ihres Freundes schwer getroffen. Eine Verfolgungsjagd durch die ganze Stadt beginnt, wobei die Polizisten dank einer Reihe an Hinweisen dem Täter immer näher kommen.
Sgt. Joe Kenda is faced with his worst nightmare when he learns a friend and fellow officer, Mark Dabling, has been killed in the line of duty. Police conduct an all-out manhunt and discover the gunman is even more dangerous than they'd thought.
