Mike is going back to his roots and helping families in need with his kids Michael and Sherry. In the first home, The City Barn, the plan is to fix the weathered roof and make the house more accessible for thirteen-year-old Jake who is battling cancer. When the reno gets delayed due to unforeseen structural issues, the Homes’ begin a second job and find out how a little leak turned into a huge disaster and insurance nightmare for homeowners Bob and Barb.
Structural issues at both houses mean the Holmes’ have to divide and conquer. Michael tackles the roof and the major structural problems discovered at the back of The City Barn. While over at The Flood House, Mike finds some unsettling issues when taking down a load-bearing wall, revealing the cause of a dip in the floor that has worried homeowner Barb for a long time. Sherry meets with two apprentices to add to the crew.
The Flood House is on its way to completion with the magnificent kitchen getting installed and new flood sensors mounted to prevent future water damage. But it is the showpiece gas fireplace with custom mantle made by Michael that brings homeowner Barb to tears. Over at The City Barn more structural issues are found causing Mike and the team to worry.
Mike and the team start work on a third house that has been heated by a small gas fireplace for over 10 years. The home is crowned “The Toxic Townhouse” after a home inspection uncovers terrible toxic elements in the air and during the demo a dangerous pipe issue is found in the basement. Sherry buys an RV to prepare for her baby’s arrival. Meanwhile the exterior of The City Barn is almost complete and as the unexpected structural issues are solved, the team makes another disturbing discovery while digging the new footing in the basement.
The police arrive after Michael makes a startling discovery while digging the footings in The City Barn. Meanwhile over at The Toxic Townhouse, Mike shows homeowners Lana and Chris the structural issues by the stairs and the dangerous gas line installed in the basement. Sherry works on the renovation binder for The City Barn and becomes a mom, and the newest addition to the Holmes family, baby Cali, is introduced to the crew for the first time.
At the Toxic Townhouse, Mike and the team are installing a new furnace replacing the decade old gas fireplace the homeowners were using to heat the home. Michael puts the finishing touches on Jake’s new custom Command Centre. And it’s time to welcome Patricia and Rod back home as The City Barn is finally revealed.
Mike meets widow Sara who needs the help and support of the Make It Right Crew to tackle the stack of stuff and pile of projects that have accumulated since her husband passed away ten years ago. Over at The Half Done House, Sherry is back on the tools and teaching the apprentices while they frame out the focal point of the living room -- a show stopping, 100-inch, fireplace.
At The Twice Done House, Mike shocks widower Sara with the mold they discover in her attic caused by an ice dam in her roof. Meanwhile at The Half Done House, the exterior gets a major facelift as two massive trees that were a danger to the house are removed. Sherry and designer Kimm go shopping for quartz for the bathroom and the show-stopping fireplace.
The Twice Done house gets an exterior makeover as the troublesome fence, windows and caulking get completed right for the first time. Michael brings homeowner Sara back to the house to show her the progress and ease her nervousness. Meanwhile it’s time to welcome Karen, Greg and their four daughters home as The Half Done house is fully completed.
The work continues on the Twice Done House as the Make it Right crew finish the flooring and the kitchen gets installed. Mike takes care of a sensitive health issue leaving Sherry and Michael to put the finishing touches on the renovation. On the anniversary of her husband’s passing, homeowner Sara is given a fresh start, as the Holmes’ deliver a house made right, the first time.
