生田ヒロト（岡山天音）は、将来への不安も、悩みも、恋人も、定職もない、２９歳のフリーター。彼は週に２回、ひょんなことから仲良くなった近所のばーちゃん（根岸季衣）の平屋で夕食をご馳走になっていた。とある冬、ばーちゃんが突然亡くなり、ヒロトが平屋を譲り受けることに。３か月後、美大入学のため、山形からいとこの小林なつみ（森七菜）が上京してきた。のんきな青年と多感な上京少女。２人の平屋生活が始まる―。
Hiroto is a 29-year-old part-timer without a care in the world-no troubles, no lovers, no stable job. Twice a week, he visits the house of an elderly woman he met on a whim to share a meal with her. One winter, she suddenly dies, leaving the house to Hiroto. Three months later, Hiroto's sensitive cousin Natsumi comes to live with him while attending an art university.
