Waar de meeste Nederlanders gehoorzamen aan de bezetter, zijn er ook mensen die weerstand bieden. Op universiteiten, via illegale kranten, door hulp aan onderduikers. Door heel Nederland ontstaan verzetsgroepen. De bezetter reageert op iedere vorm van tegenstand met harde represailles. Telkens rijst de vraag in hoeverre verzetsmensen bereid zijn door te gaan.
Whilst most Dutch people obeyed the occupying forces, there were also those who resisted. At universities, through underground newspapers, by helping people in hiding. Resistance groups sprang up throughout the Netherlands. The occupying forces responded to every form of opposition with harsh reprisals. Time and again, the question arose as to how far the resistance fighters were prepared to go.
