Königin Nefertiti von Ägypten schickt nach Hercules, um mit ihm über eine friedliche Allianz mit dem alten Erbfeind Griechenland zu verhandeln. Ihre Kinder, Prinzessin Amensu und Prinz Ramses, sehen in der Friedenspolitik ihrer Mutter nur Schwäche. Prinz Ramses, der sich öffentlich als Unterstützer seiner Mutter darstellt, will ihre Pläne durchkreuzen und lässt vom königlichen Siegel heimlich eine Kopie anfertigen. Und so bezichtigt er durch eine gefälschte Schriftrolle mit diesem königlichen Siegel seine eigene Mutter und dem mittlerweile in Ägypten angekommenen Hercules des Hochverrats. Doch Hercules kann Ramses der Fälschung überführen. Dieser flieht in die Stadt der Toten, um das Negronomicon, das Buch der Zaubersprüche, zu finden. Mit dessen Hilfe will er sich zum Gott erheben und Ägypten wieder so mächtig machen wie früher. Königin Nefertiti gesteht Hercules, dass vor ihrem Sohn auch schon ihr Gemahl versucht hat, das Buch für seine Zwecke zu benutzen, und daran zu Grunde gegangen ist. Tatsächlich gelingt es Ramses, das Buch an sich zu bringen, aber Hercules gibt sich noch nicht geschlagen. Er nimmt den Kampf gegen die altägyptische Magie auf und bekommt dabei unerwartete Unterstützung von Ramses' Schwester Amensu...
Hercules and Iolaus arrive in Egypt just in time to save Queen Nefertiti from assasins. Iolaus suspected Princess Amensu of perpetrating the crime, because Amensu wanted Egypt to attack Greece while her mother did not. But the real traitor turned out to be Prince Ramses, who had appeared to support the Queen. He found the Necronomicon -- the Book of the Dead -- and used his new powers to send stone statues after Hercules and Iolaus. But they evaded the statues and retrieved the book. Ramses was destroyed upon reciting the book's incantation, while Nefertiti and Amensu were reconciled.
Hercule et Iolas vont en Egypte en mission diplomatique et se retrouvent mêlés à une querelle de famille royale qui menace la vie de la reine Néfertiti.
Hércules y Iolaus llegan a Egipto justo a tiempo para salvar a la reina Nefertiti de unos asesinos. Iolaus sospechaba que la princesa Amensu había perpetrado el crimen, porque Amensu quería que Egipto atacara a Grecia mientras que su madre no. Pero el verdadero traidor resultó ser el príncipe Ramsés, que había aparecido para apoyar a la reina. Encontró el Necronomicón -el Libro de los Muertos- y utilizó sus nuevos poderes para enviar estatuas de piedra tras Hércules y Iolaus. Pero ellos evadieron las estatuas y recuperaron el libro. Ramsés fue destruido al recitar el encantamiento del libro, mientras que Nefertiti y Amensu se reconciliaron.

Herkules és Iolesz éppen időben érkezik Egyiptomba, hogy megmentse Nefertiti királynőt a bérgyilkosoktól. Iolesz Amensu hercegnőt gyanúsította a bűncselekmény elkövetésével, mert Amensu azt akarta, hogy Egyiptom megtámadja Görögországot, míg az anyja nem. De az igazi áruló Ramszesz herceg volt, aki úgy tűnt, hogy támogatja a királynőt. Megtalálta a Necronomicont – a Halottak Könyvét –, és új erejével kőszobrokat küldött Herkules és Iolesz után. De elkerülték a szobrokat, és visszaszerezték a könyvet. Ramszesz megsemmisült a könyv varázsigének elmondásakor, Nefertiti és Amensu pedig kibékült.
