In the first challenge the 8 hopefuls have to incorporate a 7 centimetre quiff into a hairstyle. The second challenge see's the contestants tested on cutting human hair on mannequins. The final round before elimination sees the stylists asked to create a fairytale inspired hairstyle.
The seven remaining hopefuls have to incorporate plaits and braids into a hairstyle in the first challenge. In the blockhead round, they have to cut real human hair on identical mannequin heads. In the freestyle challenge, they need to use all of their technical and creative abilities as they’re asked to create hats out of hair.
