秦川大学考古系研究生方堃在协助追索海外流失文物时，发现白鹿原尹村的一处墓穴可能是不为人知的高等级帝陵。导师昝茂昌带其前往白鹿原实地勘察，却意外献出生命。方堃带着导师的遗愿，成长为一名考古队员。尹村未知墓穴引发考古届关注，方堃受邀参与勘察，与已成为考古队长的昔日恋人雒青重逢。方堃重提当年的猜测，引发争议和关注，也引起文物犯罪分子的觊觎。方堃、雒青以及公安局文物缉查队长齐大仓等一线文物保护工作者一起组织群众参与文物保护，与以穆见晖为首的文物犯罪团伙斗智斗勇，有力地保护了白鹿原尹村大墓及周边古迹遗存，并最终发现“亚字形”大墓，使藏于地下千年的汉太宗兹陵重现人间。
