An even bigger mystery is Rasputin's death. In 1909, Rasputin was invited to the court of Tsar Nicholas II. The Tsar asked Rasputin to heal his ill, dying son, who is suffering from hemophilia. When the boy miraculously recovers, Rasputin is regarded a friend and adviser to the Romanovs. Especially Tsarina Alexandra Fjodornova regards Rasputin as the savior of her son and she builds a close relationship with the faith healer. However, his growing power over the imperial family soon makes him many powerful enemies, both within the Orthodox Church as in politics. Does the "possessed monk" yield too much power? On December 29, 1916, not long before the Russian revolution sweeps across the nation, Rasputin is killed. Who killed him? And why?
