On October 8, 2012, Pedro Bravo was indicted for the kidnapping and first degree murder of University of Florida freshman Christian Aguilar. Bravo, also a Florida college student, was the last person seen with Aguilar on September 20th, the night Aguilar disappeared. Upon further investigation, authorities discovered Bravo had been distraught after his ex-girlfriend, Friman, began dating his friend, Aguilar. Bravo became obsessed with separating the couple. Blinded by jealousy, Bravo even concocted a plan to kill Aguilar, believing he could be reunited with Friman. During the trial, Bravo’s incredibly detailed journal was used as evidence. The journal not only contained his obsession with Friman and his desire to “win her back”, but also how he intended to get away with the murder of Aguilar, who he had known since middle school. In the end, Bravo was convicted and sentenced to life in prison
