サポーター陣に、解任要求を突き付けられた達海。背水の陣で向かう相手は、元ＥＴＵ監督の不破率いる名古屋グランパレス。カップ戦・リーグ戦と、ＥＴＵとは対照的に連勝を続ける不破は、高額の外国人選手を獲得することでチームの戦力を引き上げようとする徹底した合理主義者だった。序盤、得意のブラジル人トリオによるパスワークにより、圧倒的な攻戦を見せる名古屋だが、達海の作戦は既に始まっていた・・・。
