Kaos hat den direkten Draht des Geheimdienstes zum Weißen Haus angezapft. Als der Chef telefoniert, spricht ein Kaos-Agent als Präsident zu ihm. Er setzt ihn ab und befördert Maxwell Smart. Als Kellner versucht der echte Chef, Max und 99 zu warnen.
The Chief is relieved of Duty as Chief,when he receives a call from what he believes is the President;(actually it is Gorshen a Kaos voice impersonator)informing the Chief as of Today Max is the New Chief.This part of Kaos's plan to infiltrate,and then destroy Control.With Max being in charge Kaos really don't need to plan.
KAOS descubre el número del teléfono privado del Jefe, imitando la voz del presidente, un agente de KAOS le comunica a el Jefe que ya no lo es y por lo tanto vuelve a ser agente (con una letra "Q" dado que cuando el fué agente no se habían repartido los números) y que Max lo reemplazará como jefe. Richard Yarmy, hermano de Don tiene un papel como agente de KAOS.
Le chef est relevé de ses fonctions de chef lorsqu'il reçoit un appel de celui qu'il croit être le président (en fait, c'est Gorshen, un imitateur de la voix de Kaos) informant le chef qu'à partir d'aujourd'hui, Max est le nouveau chef.
