Ericksen is a park ranger at Jay Mountain Wilderness. He used to be a biologist in U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services working at Gooseberry Falls State Park, MN. While at the state park, he noticed a strange boom in the population of a rare mollusk. Following the trail of its sudden increase in food source, he ended up encountering an ancient evil in Deluth. The traumatic incident led to his change in occupation and involvement in Delta Green.
